Many people can’t see the relevance of theology to their everyday lives. In The Great Dance, C. Baxter Kruger takes the historic doctrines of the Trinity and Incarnation, shakes them free from their academic dust, and shows how they unlock the hidden truth of our ordinary lives.

From motherhood to baseball, from relationships and music to golf and gardening, Dr. Kruger shows how our human existence is to be understood as a participation in the life of the Father, Son and Spirit.

The Great Dance is a master piece, and epic and astonishing vision of human life and the mystery of its intersection with the life of the Triune God. Dr. Kruger charts a course from the dream of the Father, Son and Spirit to include us to the union of the human race with the Trinity in Jesus Christ. The final two chapters are dedicated to understanding how evil works in our lives to frustrate our participation, and how we can come to our rights minds and live in the great dance of life shared by the Father, Son and Spirit.

Finally! The doctrine of the Trinity put forward in a readable and understandable way without loss of the main ad beautiful point of it all.

“God is not a ‘scarecrow in a melon patch.’ Nor is he like Scrooge, who found it natural to spoil all Christmas festivities. Rather God is, in Baxter Kruger’s inimitable joyous presentation, ‘the God of the great dance.’ For Dr. Kruger gives us a vision of the Christian life that is powerful, winsome, hospitable, intimate, and oh so relevant and personal to the desires of the human heart with its eternal longings.”

    Loving this book!
I have a comment re: page 24 on Logic of Creation, paragraphs 1 & 2:
If, after reading this explanation of why God created us, someone still says they do NOT want to be united with God, do not want to be ‘included’ in His life, they are somewhat deluded.
We can choose to separate from Him spiritually – the one way we can ‘touch’ Him in our present state; and we are already separated from Him physically – it is impossible to reach out and touch Him. So isn’t it interesting that the thing that is impossible for us to use in this life to ‘touch’ Him is the one thing that God created for each of us uniquely, AND is also the thing that we cannot shed or separate from without losing our lives.
So complete physical separation from Him requires our own death. At that time we must pass to a completely spiritual state which, if we have denied Him, will separate us from Him forever.
God loves us so much that He tethered us to Him so closely that the bond can only be broken by our own death. And then He guaranteed that our bond to Him could continue beyond death and to eternity by offering His own physical death to pay for our sins.
Every fiber of our physical being speaks of Him; we must remain attached to it to live on earth.
We must then remain attached to HIS body, HIS death to continue to live with Him in spirit through eternity.

Thank you for writing this book Dr. Kruger!
